The Lion is one of the largest predators in the feline family. Drawing this animal is not easy. Even though lion looks a lot like a cat, it is still more challenging to draw. Lions are also related to tigers and leopards. Its recognizable distinct traits are the large mane and tip of fur on the tail.
In this lesson, we will learn how to draw a lion.
Draw the body of a lion.
To do this, draw a large circle almost in the middle of your sheet of paper. Then add two circles in the right part of your sheet for the front of the clavicle and the head. The initial circles will be useful to you in drawing the general shape of the lion.
Complete the lion's shape.
Then add three long ovals for the legs. After draw one curved line on back and short curved line at the bottom of body.
Then add a smal circle for the mouth and a few contours for the paws. The next step is draw small ovals for the lion's paws and connect all parts of the lines as shown here. Lastly, draw the tail and tip of the tail.
Add eyes, nose, and mouth to the lion's face.
Using the eraser, wipe away all unnecessary lines and clearly draw a basic outline. Outline the contours of the mane as shown in the figure.
Begin drawing out the details of the lion's muzzle. Add whiskers and finish the eye.

Next, you need to add shadows to the lion's figure. The farther something is from the front of your drawing, the less light hits it, hence it's more shaded.
Draw a landscape surrounding near the lion. Additional details are enlivening the pictures and make the drawing of lion more realistic.
